Patuflex® Dairy Technical Specification

Patuflex® Dairy

With the onset of RFID identification systems within today’s livestock industry dairy producers looking for a quick and easy system to identify their cows in either parlors and or barn situations. Patuflex System for for dairy cattle allows producer too easily to identify their cows by using RFID technology embedded in the Patuflex legband.

The Patuflex System allows the use of RFID (FDX or HDX) technology to identify your animals using any commercial readers available on the market today. You can identify your animals in the parlor, the barn, pastures situation, all, feedlines, and corrals. Once you have linked you cow to the specific RFID legband in place on the animal you can accurately read that specific animal ID. (“NO MIX UP’S)

The Patuflex legband is easy to place on the cow’s leg. There is no need to worry about Patuflex being able to withstand the tough environmental conditions it will encounter. The polyurethane ether is a high performance material that provides it with high resistances to degradation due to high moisture, organic material load, and chemical contact. Due the polyurethane ether UV or bacteria will not breakdown the legband.

Not only does the legband have RFID capacity, but also has visual numbers printed on it. The numbers are printed on the legband using laser technology that gives a very good contrast for high legibility. The printed is not effected by UV rays, weather conditions, chemicals contact, and is abrasion resistant. The printing has been tested for abrasion by TABER method of testing and we guarantee against abrasion.

Patuflex Dairy Legbands can withstand the roughest of that your animal may run into such as pastures, freestalls and corrals and still not tear. Tensile strength of the legband is 440 lbs. which also includes the tamperproof mechanism which secures the legband to the leg of the cow. The tamperproof mechanism is designed with a built-in heavy duty pins that the heads of the pins break-off easily that insures the legband’s anti-release factor. Giving you “piece of mind” that your legband will not be lost.

The Patuflex is easily affixed to the animal’s leg by wrapping it around the lower part of either of the back legs, but above the dewclaw snuggly while lining up the locking mechanism. Push pins in to appropriate locking mechanism. Once pushed in and you feel or hear the snap that they are in place break-off the head of each pin permanently locking the legband on the animal’s leg.

Once the application is completed you can now read your animals ID either via the RFID or visual numbers.
